Retired Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds mulls T20I comeback

New Delhi: Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds, who retired from international cricket four years back, is considering a comeback to play T20Is.

Expressing his thoughts about the comeback, the 40-year-old said that although it was challenging for him to play the sport at this age, he was enjoying doing so.

“I suppose I'm in a situation where I could go back, try and get really fit and engage again. Or just be happy doing what I'm doing. That's something I've got to work out in the next six months or so."

The dynamic all-rounder retirement from international cricket in February 2012 citing personal reasons.

At the moment, Symonds is representing his side Capricorn Commanders in the Masters Champions League (MCL) in Dubai, which is aimed at giving retired players a chance to take the field again, ESPNcricinfo reported.

Symonds played 14 T20Is for Australia and scored 337 runs at an average of 48.14. The all-rounder also has eight wickets to his credit.
