New Delhi: Former India captains Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble along with yesteryear's greats Mohinder Amarnath, Kapil Dev and Bishen Singh Bedi deposed before the Justice Lodha Committee as they prepare an exhaustive report on the restructuring and reforms that need to be carried by the BCCI.
"I spoke to the Lodha Committee for close to 90 minutes.
It was a wonderful interacting with three eminent gentlemen of such high calibre. I spoke to them on lot of issues pertaining to Indian cricket. But it would not be fair on my part to divulge the details of a private meeting. It is their prerogative. But I am hopeful that things are on right direction," Bedi told PTI on Friday.
It was also learnt that two Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) officials Sunil Kumar Singh and Jittu Patel also met the committee members submitting documents with allegations of financial irregularities and conflict of interest against association president Amitabh Chaudhary.
It has been learnt Amarnath also separately deposed before the committee comprising of Justice (Retd) Lodha, Justice (retd) RV Raveendran and Justice (retd) Ashok Bhan.
“Yes, we met Sachin, Rahul and Anil. So far, we have interacted with six former India captains. Kapil Dev and Bishan Singh Bedi have also given their views,” justice RM Lodha told Hindustan Times on Friday.
“It was my first one-to-one meeting with Sachin and he shared his suggestions with the committee,” said Lodha.
“Each one has his perception on issues relating to cricket, administration, IPL, conflict of interest, corruption, transparency, accountability, state-level tournaments and state units administration.”
“The interactions are only on the reforms part. A questionnaire was sent to them, and while some questions may not be relevant, whatever we wanted to discuss, we did. Three-four persons are left and we intend to finish early,” he said.
