Johannesburg: England coach Trevor Bayliss believes that his side had competed on 'equal terms' against Pakistan during their second Test of the three-match series in Dubai, but added there is still room for improvement.
Bayliss admitted that his side didn't perform well on the third day when they collapsed from 182-3 to 242 all out, Sport24 reported.
Expressing disappointment with his side's spin bowling during the Dubai Test, Bayliss insisted that they would surely get better in the upcoming matches.
Lavishing praise on batsman James Taylor, the 52-year-old said that he has been performing well during the practice session and his inclusion could benefit the entire team.
Earlier, Pakistan claimed a 1-0 lead in the series following their 178-run win over England in the second Test.
The first Test between the two sides ended with a draw. England and Pakistan will play their series decider Test on November 1 at Sharjah.
