New Delhi: Days after India's Test skipper Virat Kohli recalled how his participation in the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup helped him grow as cricketer, legendary Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid on Thursday rated the tournament highly.
"The event (U-19 WC) provides an opportunity to grow and learn, meet cricketers from other countries who you may go on to play against at the senior level for many years. It is a great opportunity for young players to be able to get exposure to the demands of international cricket.
"Touring at a young age exposes you to the outside world and helps you explore and understand various cultures. That will go a long way in the development of a cricketer," Ex Indian skipper, Dravid was quotes as saying by the IANS.
The tournament is scheduled to start from January 27 in Bangladesh.
Interestingly, Dravid is the one who is coaching the U-19 team as it will look to win the prestigious title for the fourth time.
India are clubbed in Group D alongside Ireland, New Zealand and Nepal.
