New Delhi: Sri Lankan cricketer Kamindu Mendis is hogging the limelight in the on-going ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup. Thus far, the spinner has bowled really well in the tourney. But that's not the only reason he has become a centre of attraction in the host nation, Bangladesh.
The Galle-born tweaker has an X-factor. He is an ambidextrous off spinner, who can use both his arms equally well to bowl. And with his unique skill, he has impressed many in the tourney.
In the two matches Mendis played against Afghanistan and Canada, the ambidextrous bowler accumulated four wickets.
Have you EVER seen anything like this before!!!

In fact, 17-year-old's profile at Cricinfo reads - Right-arm offbreak, Slow left-arm orthodox, which is very unusual for a bowler, who is playing at this level.
Mendis is certainly among the rarest of the rare bowlers in world cricket.
Incidentally, few days back Akshay Karnewar from India, who plays for Vidarbha showcased the similar skills during a match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Twenty tournament.
The 23-year-old, bowled left-arm spin to right-handed batsmen and right-arm off-break to left-handers in the match.
His amazing skills even stunned the Baroda cricketers Irfan Pathan and Hardik Pandya, who faced the bowler.
