New Delhi: Five members of Rahul Dravid's India's U-19 World Cup team were picked up at the recently held Indian Premier League auction.
Explosive batsman Rishabh Pant fetched a whooping Rs 1.9 crore, while skipper Ishan Kishan bagged a Rs 35 lakh deal.
While the Indian colts crushed Namibia on the day of the IPL auction, a part of their attention was fixed on the proceedings in Bengaluru.
Speaking to the Indian Express, batsman Armaan Jaffer on Sunday revealed the advice given by Dravid to the team after the high-profile auction.
“The whole concentration is on this tournament. We did discuss the auction, yes, but Rahul sir has instructed that we don’t talk much about the IPL. This team is not going to be together after this, so the concentration is fully on this tournament. This time will not come back,” he said.
Big money can often distract cricketers at a young age but this lot is lucky to have someone like Dravid in charge at this crucial juncture in their career.
