New Delhi: During the recently concluded ICC World Twenty20 2016, while there was plenty of action on the cricket field, even from the commentary box, there was no dearth of entertainment as a result of an intriguing banter between Virender Sehwag and Shoaib Akhtar.

Sehwag not only entertained the viewers with his pun-liners, but also did not miss out on a single opportunity to take digs at Akhtar.

In the build up to the tournament, during an interview with comedian Vikran Sathaye, Viru said that Akhtar had started praising Indian players all of a sudden, due to commercial and business interests.

“Shoaib Akhtar became a really good friend later on because he wanted to establish business in India. For that, he will have to praise us after which he can be invited for comments here. You see any interview of his these days and you will see him praising India to the hilt. Money can make anything possible," Sehwag said.

Viru also added that not only Akhtar, but several other Pakistani cricketers are also keen in coming to India for new stints.

“Nowadays, Pakistani people such as Mohammad Yousuf, Saqlain Mushtaq or Rana, who work in Pakistan TV channels, all want to come to India because they know India is a big market and obviously if you get Rs 1 lakh over here, then its Rs 2 lakh in Pakistan,” he said.
