New Delhi: New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum on Monday announced his plans of retirement from international cricket in February.

Credited for the rise of New Zealand cricket especially in the last few years, McCullum's batting was as good as his leadership skills.

Along with likes of Chris Gayle and Virender Sehwag, the wicketkeeper-batsman is widely regarded as the most explosive opener of his generation.

The 34-year-old's ability to play unconventional cricket shots often left bowlers across the world scurrying for cover.
