Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has asked Sherry Rehman, ambassador-designate to the US, to concentrate on further enhancing Pakistan-US bilateral ties with a focus on strengthening trade ties.
Zardari met Rehman at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday. Rehman said she would augment Pakistan`s bilateral relations with the US, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
Former minister Rehman was appointed envoy to the US on Wednesday after Husain Haqqani resigned over a secret memo to Washington that claimed Zardari feared a military coup following the May 02 killing of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad. IANS
