What KP wants, KP gets: Psychic Kevin Pietersen predicts Chris Gayle wicket

New Delhi: Besides the record crowd, the Melbourne derby of the 2015 Big Bash League on Saturday also turned out to be Kevin Pietersen's prediction game.

The former England captain, during an on-field commentary while fielding said, “I will be very happy if that bloke down there who’s currently batting knocks one up in the air here. We’ve all seen him start slowly but he can explode.”

And the batsman he was referring to was Renegades' dangerous West Indian Chris Gayle.

Then, the very next delivery bowled by John Hastings, in the second delivery of the fourth over, Gayle failed in his attempt to dispatch the ball, producing a scoop only for Pietersen to gleefully accept the offering at mid-on.

Gayle made four off 11 and his wicket was instrumental in Stars' victory. They chased down the 161-run target with Luke Wright hitting a magnificent 63-ball 109* knock in the seven wicket win.

The Melbourne Cricket Ground also witnessed a BBL record crowd with 80,883 attending the T20 match.
