I almost hanged myself after loss in 2nd ODI, says Zimbabwe coach Makhaya Ntini after batting collapse

New Delhi: Zimbabwe's consecutive defeat against India in the 2nd ODI of the ongoing series did not go too well with interim coach Makhaya Ntini.

Sharing his disappointment, the former South African bowler said that he would have hung himself after the kind of performance his team displayed.

"I almost hanged myself," Makhaya Ntini said. "If there was a tomato tree outside I would have hanged myself in that tomato tree.

"It’s no good. We have experienced players with us who can easily read the game. We were in the perfect position."

MS Dhoni and his mean thrashed the hosts in second consecutive match after defeating them by nine wickets in the first ODI.

Batting first in the second ODI, Zimbabwe were in a decent position at 106/3. Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal then picked two wickets off consecutive balls, which triggered another batting collapse and they were bowled out for 126.

To make matters worse, Sean Williams, who was roped in as a replacement for the injured Craig Ervine, took a blow to the finger during the warm-ups and was unable to bat and bowl.

India have now taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the one-day international series at Harare Sports Club on Monday.
