Atletico de Kolkata head coach Antonio Lopez Habas on Wednesday said marquee player Helder Postiga is recovering and he hopes that the Portuguese international will join the team in a week's time.
Postiga scored a brace in the Indian Super League (ISL) opener against Chennaiyin FC but then had to be stretchered off the field due to a ligament injury.
"We will be waiting for him for another week. He was in Portugal for recovery. I believe he will be with us in the next seven days," Habas said here.
The defending champions are presently battling injury issues which have plagued their side. To add to it, defender Josemi will miss the next clash against Delhi Dynamos on Thursday, but Habas insists the outfit will play to bag all three points.
"The situation is good but then in 90 minutes anything can happen. We will target all three points," he said.
Elaborating on Josemi's injury, Habas said "It doesn't look good. The injury is serious. We cannot evaluate as of now the time he will need to comeback."
Habas added that he believes ATK have more quality in the midfield and that the match would be a closely contested one. "We have more quality in the midfield. The contest will be a good one."
ATK have lost their last two matches but the Spaniard said it does not worry him much as long as his team are creating chances.
"We have created a lot of chances. Unfortunately we could not finish on many occasions so that does not worry me much. What matters is the attitude. We want to be the protagonist," he said.
Speaking about conceding late goals in the last few games, Habas said: "Sometimes you just cannot control things in football. We are fighting to have the right balance."
Habas added that Botswana midfielder Ofentse Nato is likely to play in defence against the Dynamos.
