NorthEast meanwhile, drew their last encounter against Delhi but are still languishing in the last position in the table. A victory for NorthEast is a necessity at the moment.
The Salt Lake stadium will be expected to be filled in large numbers as usual. ATK coach will be happy with the return of Helder Postiga. Though he is unlikely to play tonight, but the ATK camp will be boosted.
We look at players who could make a major impact in the game for both the teams.
Iain Hume ( Atletico de Kolkata): Hume was unstoppable in the last game for ATK against Mumbai after he claimed a hattrick. The Canadian forward will have to shoulder the responsibility in scoring for the hosts in this crucial game. Hume will rely on services from an impressive ATK midfield. Hume has also provided three assists so far and will be of a threat to NorthEast.
Simao (NorthEast United): The Highlanders’ marquee player Simao has been pivotal for the side right throughout the campaign. Simao’s free-kick was crucial for NorthEast in their game against Delhi. Simao may be used again as a super-sub, but his impact will be crucial. Simao has scored two goals so far, and another one against ATK will be handy for his side.
