New Delhi: Brazilian football club Chapecoense were traveling to Colombia to face Atletico Nacional for the final of Copa Sudamericana.
The tragic plane crash reportedly took lives of 71 people onboard out of 77.
The final's opponent club Atletico Nacional have asked the trophy to be given to Chapecoense team.
The final of the tournament was supposed to take place on November 30 after Chapecoense had beaten Cerro Porteno in the semi-finals.
Despite the horror tragedy, the fans made it to the stadium to pay tribute to crash victims.
CONMEBOL are yet to confirm Atletico Nacional's wish to grant the title of Chapecoense will be granted, but it is widely expected that the club will be given the trophy in the next few days.
Fellow Brazilian football club Corinthians have also formally requested for Chapecoense to be exempt from relegation for the next three years.
A number of other clubs in Brazil have said they will provide players to Chapecoense so that they can continue their journey as a club, with offers from Flamengo and Palmeiras already confirmed.
