New Delhi: Liverpool Under-18 star of Indian origin Yan Dhanda signed a professional contract with the Anfield club.
The 17-year-old Birmingham-born play-maker joined the Reds' academy in July 2013 from West Bromwich Albion and has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Regarded as one of the most promising players in England, Dhanda has already represented England in under-16 and under-17 level.
He won the up-and-coming player category at the Asian Football Awards in 2013.
Dhanda, thus become the first player of Indian origin to sign a professional contract with Liverpool. But he is the second British Asian with a professional contract at the top level after Swansea's Neil Taylor.
The new dea will keep Dhanda on Merseyside until at least 2018.
