New Delhi: Jurgen Klopp was on Thursday appointed Liverpool's new manager on a three-year deal worth £15m.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss had been out of professional football management since May, when he ended a seven-year association with the Bundesliga club.
The 48-year-old will earn £5m a year, rising to £7m if he wins the Premier League title or qualifies for the Champions League.
At Anfield, Klopp is expected to replace Sean O'Driscoll and Gary McAllister with Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz - his former assistants in Germany.
Klopp's first match in charge of Liverpool will see the Reds take on Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.
With the Merseyside club in 10th position on the league table, the maverick manager has a tough task at hand to revive the fortunes of the club.
