New Delhi: After his team's draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Monday, Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney said that the Red Devils were unlucky not to win the match.
"We created a lot of chances," Rooney, the club's joint second-highest goal scorer told British media. "We didn't manage to take one but I thought we played some great stuff."
Rooney, who has scored one goal in 14 league appearances this season, made plenty of attacking moves against the John Terry-led side, but none of them could convert into a goal.
Praising the fight by his team, Rooney added, "We're going through a tough time but we've all stuck together and put up a great fight."
The draw on Monday extended United's winless run to eight games, and left the most successful club in the tournament at sixth place on the table.
