New Delhi: Italy's lost to Germany in their 2016 European Championships quarter-final became an Internet sensation, thanks to a certain Simone Zaza – who prodded with quick feats in a bid to unsettle a virtually unbeatable German goal-keeper Manuel Never.
Despite all his theatrics, the result never came Italy forward's way, and the ball ballooned over the bar. And soon, the 25-year-old Juventus player became a subject of ridicule, in both real and virtual world, with many memes keep coming.
The shoot-out in Bordeaux was strange, considering it required eighteen kicks, that too involving two of the most steeliest sides in the world. Unluckily, Zaza remained the main talking point.
But the worst ever penalty ever taken, at least on video record, probably belonged to a certain Peter Devine, of Lancaster City.
