New Delhi: In the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday, South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) champions India gained a place to be 162nd even as Belgium continue to occupy the top spot.
India, with 139 points, are ranked 31st in the Asian Football Confederation ranking.
Iran (44th) are the highest ranked Asian nation while the SAFF runners-up Afghanistan have fallen a spot and are now in the 154th position.
In the world ranking, the top 18 positions remain unchanged for the February edition, with Belgium still leading the list with 1494 points. Argentina, Spain and Germany and Chile complete the top five.
Five-time world champions Brazil are in the sixth spot, ahead of Portugal, Columbia, England and Austria.
