"New challenge, new team, new family. Will try to do my best," the former French defender wrote on his official Twitter handle.

His arrival, however, was delayed with Visa issues and he's all set to arrive tomorrow morning and may also travel to Barasat to cheer his new team against BFC.

Mendy was a vital cog in Chennaiyin FC's triumph in the recently concluded Indian Super League. East Bengal struck a deal with the former Paris Saint-Germain, Hull City and Bolton Wanderers player.

East Bengal will sign him next week and he's likely to make his debut in red and gold jersey against Aizawl FC on February 5.

Mendy will fill the fourth foreigners' slot after Bello Rassaq, Ranty Martins and Do Dong Hyun.
