New Delhi: New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has started to mark his presence felt at Old Trafford with yet another high-profile signing ahead of the new season.
Known for buying established stars, the Portuguese got the services Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who signed a four-year contract with United with the option of another 12 months on Wednesday.
The deal is said to be worth £26.3 million.
The highly regarded Armenia international is the third signing under Mourinho, after Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly and star Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Mkhitaryan, 27, scored 23 goals and claimed 32 assists for Borussia Dortmund. He was voted Bundesliga Player of the Season by his fellow professionals.
The newest United player dedicated his move to Old Trafford to his late father Hamlet — also a footballer — who died 20 years ago when Mkhitaryan was just seven.
