Incheon: Anirban Lahiri, whose debut at the Presidents Cup was not the most ideal one, will sit out on Friday when the Fourballs competition is held.

Lahiri and Thongchai Jaidee lost their match to the in-form Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker 5&4 in the first match to give the US team their first points.

The US led 4-1 after the first day, the biggest lead they have held in the competition since 2007.

Lahiri, who was out rooting for his teammates after his match said, "You don't just play for yourself. You play for the team, and unfortunately I didn't play my best today, and hopefully I come up with my game whenever I'm asked to."

For Friday's match in the 'Fourball' format, also called 'Best-ball', the International Team captain, Nick Price looking to recover some ground on Friday, changed four of his five pairs, while US captain, Jay Haas sat out his day's losing pair, Reed and Kuchar, bringing in his son, Bill Haas, and Chris Kirk.

Price put his sole winners from Thursday, Oosthuizen and Grace, against World No.1 Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson in the opening Fourballs.

Fowler and Walker will clash with Lee, who has been paired with Korean Sangmoon Bae, who sat out Thursday, while Zach Johnson and Phil Mickelson, who shook hands stylishly after every good shot and kept feeding off each other, meet Australians Adam Scott with World No.2 Jason Day.

J.B. Holmes and Bubba Watson meet another new pairing Aussies, Marc Leishman and Steve Bowditch and in the final match on Friday, Bill Haas and Chris Kirk, who sat out Thursday will meet Thongchai and Charl Schwartzel, who has recovered from the bug infection that laid him low for last two days.

Price said, "Charl is doing really well. He had a day off yesterday. I think he spent the majority of the day in bed yesterday. The doc went to see him and he felt a lot better.

Hit some balls this morning and chipped and putted, so that's good. He gave me the green light at lunchtime today. He said he's ready to go."
