New Delhi: The Hockey India League's fourth edition is all set to start from January 18 across six different venues and there is a big sense of excitement all around given the whooping prize amount this time.
Rs 5.70 crores will be up for grabs in this season's HIL which will run close to a month.
It is said that the winning team of the fourth edition of HIL will take home an attractive Rs 2.50 crore, while the runner's up will walk away with an Rs 1.75 crore prize money.
A cash reward of Rs 75.00 lakhs will also be awarded to the team finishing third in the tournament.
The 'Coal India Player of the Tournament' is expected to win a cash reward of Rs 50 lakhs for the tourney. Also there is some more good new for individual goalscorers, as the Coal India Goal of the Match award has been increased to Rs 50,000.
Monetary benefits also awaits the 'man-of-the-match' award which will be a staggering amount of Rs 50,000.
Youngsters too weren't left behind as upcoming player of the tournament is expected to pocket a sum of 20 lacs.
Teams will hope the excitement surrounding the HIL will attract fans and with the prize money being attractive, the level of play will be as close as ever.
Ranchi Rays are the defending champions of the tournament. The side will play their first match against last year runner's up Jaypee Punjab Warriors in a re-match of previous edition's final.
