Srinagar: Three militants, including two Hizbul Mujahideen ultras, were on Tuesday arrested in separate operations by security forces in Baramulla district of north Kashmir. During a routine vehicle checking, Hizb militant Mohammad Yousuf Bhat and his wife Shahnaz Bibi, a resident of PoK, were taken into custody by security forces near Rangee Mode in Pattan, 27 km from here, a police spokesman said.
A revolver, three rounds of bullets and a hand grenade were recovered from Bhat at the time of his arrest, he said.
Bhat, a resident of Shopian district in south Kashmir, had recently infiltrated into the Kashmir Valley from across the border along with his wife, the spokesman said, adding that the couple is being interrogated. In another operation, security forces arrested two militants travelling in a vehicle near Muqam crossing, 55 km from here, and recovered two pistols, as many magazines and six rounds from their possession.
The militants have been identified as Mohammad Rafiq Lone of Hizbul Mujahideen and Ejaz Ahmad Shah of Al-Barq outfit.
While Lone is a resident of Krankshivan locality of Sopore township, Shah hails from nearby Delina village, the spokesman said.
