Mumbai: Maharashtra Youth Congress on Saturday expressed strong displeasure over the NCP forging tie-up with parties like Shiv Sena in the recently held Zilla Parishad elections.
"NCP should discard its symbol of `clock` and adopt `dagger` as a symbol for backstabbing Congress," state Youth Congress president Vishwajeet Kadam told reporters. Kadam`s comments came in the wake of NCP ousting Congress from the Yavatmal Zilla Parishad which the latter had controlled since its inception. Yavatmal is home district of state Congress chief Manikrao Thakre. Congress had emerged as the single largest party there, but NCP wrested control with the help of Sena. "NCP is no longer a secular party," Kadam said.
