New Delhi: The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) president Jean Todt revealed that Michael Schumacher, who has been suffering from severe head injuries since past two years, is still fighting.
"I see Michael very often and Michael is still fighting," Todt was quoted as saying by BBC.
Record seven-time Formula One world champion Schumacher is continuing his rehabilitation at home after spending six months in an induced coma after a skiing accident in December 2013.
Schumacher and Todt share a close bond as the latter was Ferrari boss when the German won five successive titles between 2000 and 2004.
"I was very proud of what Michael did and sometimes you tend to forget what he did.
"Michael's a close friend. His family is very close to me. We must keep him fighting with the family," he added.
Schumi got injured while skiing during a French Alps vacation and has been going through his painfully slow recovery at his Swiss lakeside home.
The 46-year-old driver now weighs less than 45 kg and he cannot walk or talk and has limited consciousness.
