New Delhi: Indian boxer Shiva Thapa ended his campaign with a silver medal after losing in the final of the Asian/Oceania Qualifying Tournament on Friday.
Shiva had qualified for the upcoming Rio Olympics 2016 in the 56kg event on Thursday, after making it to the finals.
But his dream for a gold medal was cut short by Thailand's Chatchai Butdee. The 22-year-old India boxer, who is a World Championship bronze-medallist, went down 0-3 to in the summit clash.
Interestingly, Butdee is the reigning Asian champion.
Shiva became the first Indian boxer to qualify for the Rio Olympics so far.
Meanwhile, it was a heartbreak once again for L Devendro Singh (49kg), who missed a second opportunity to qualify for the Olympics.
Devendro, who lost in the semifinals on Thursday, went down in Friday's Olympic slot match.
Devendro saw himself engaged in a keenly-contested bout against Mongolia's Gan-Erdene Gankhuyag but lost 2-1.
