New Delhi: 'Conflict of interest' is a term which has troubled Indian cricketers and its administrators a lot in the recent past. But this time around, chief national pistol coach, Mohinder Lal is under the scanner for the same.
In fact, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) has taken a serious view of the conflict of interest against him and is likely to take stringent action, as per a report published in Hindustan Times.
Lal was the government observer for shooting when he accepted the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) offer to be the coach late last year. And holding two posts amounts to conflict of interest as per the sports ministry’s directives.
“There is a conflict of interest in this case and we will press for his (Lal’s) removal as chief coach. I have spoken to the DG, Sports Authority of India (SAI), and action is imminent,” sports secretary PK Deb told HT.
