New Delhi: In a hard-fought battle Indonesian shuttler Tommy Sugiarto beat Kidambi Srikanth of India to win the men's singles final of the $120,000 Indonesian Masters Grand Prix Gold on Sunday.
Second seed Sugiarto got the better of the Indian in the summit clash by beating him – 17-21,21-13, 24-22.
Despite winning the first game, Srikanth couldn't manage to beat the local man, in an entertaining match.
This was Srikanth's fourth final this year after winning two (India Open Superseries and Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold) and losing one (India Grand Prix Gold).
In the semis on Saturday the 22-year-old, Indian took just 37 minutes to oust Ginting Anthony 21-13, 21-19.
In the recent past, the shuttler has had one of the worst runs in his international career, having exited five of his last six tournaments in the first round.
The only time he did not lose the opener was when he reached the second round at the Denmark Open in October.
