Parliament to decide on anti-corruption law: Cong
The Congress on Sunday said the government is committed to a strong Lokpal bill but it is for the Parliament to make the law.
New Delhi: With Anna Hazare sitting on a day-long fast for a stronger Lokpal Bill, the Congress on Sunday said the government is committed to a strong Lokpal bill but it is for the Parliament to make the law.
"The government is committed to a strong Lokpal but it is for the parliament to decide what kind of law has to be made," Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi told reporters here.
Reacting to Team Anna`s charge hat the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government is not committed to a strong Lokpal, Alvi said people can have different view on things.
Large crowds gathered at the Jantar Mantar on Sunday as Hazare began his day-long fast at 11 a.m. in the capital.
