New Delhi: The Punjab police have given a clean chit to Indian hockey skipper Sardar Singh, who was accused of sexual and mental harassment by an India-origin England Under-19 women's hockey player.

According to a report in The Indian Express, Ashpal Bhogal, who is a UK resident, has said that the Ludhiana Police have told her to file a complaint with the Haryana Police as the alleged incidents took place in Hisar and Panchkula.

The woman further added that the Ludhiana police told her they have found that no offense was made out against the player in their jurisdiction which is why no action can be taken against him.

Bhogal said she will now approach the Haryana Police and continue the legal battle.

Sardar appeared before the SIT on March 1 and pleaded innocence.

Bhogal, who is a former under-19 England hockey player, has claimed that Sardar got engaged to her in 2014, following which they entered into a physical relationship.

She repeated that she was engaged to Sardar, he sexually harassed her and forced her to abort their child. Later, he refused to marry her.
