RS adjourned twice after BSP uproar

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice before lunch after BSP members strongly opposed an SP member making a statement about their leader Mayawati.
BSP members led by Brajesh Pathak stormed into the Well asking the Chair not to allow Naresh Agrawal (SP) raise the issue of their leader in the House and asked the Chair to expunge the remarks already made by him.
Though the Chair kept asking the BSP members to take their seats and not `dictate` it, Pathak and others did not budge and insisted on a direction disallowing the SP member from raising the issue. Trouble started soon after Question Hour when Agrawal apparently taunted BSP members by saying that they raised only those issues that Mayawati wanted them to do in Parliament.
Agrawal, who was earlier in BSP, said no one could `dictate` anyone in the House.
This provoked BSP members who took strong exception to the remark. Amid uproar, Chairman Hamid Ansari adjourning the House for 15 minutes. When the House reassembled, Agrawal again wanted to raise the issue, triggering a fresh bout of protests from BSP members, who stormed the Well, questioning as to how the SP member was allowed to speak.
P J Kurien, who was in the Chair, then adjourned the House again for 15 minutes.
