WWE RAW: October 17th, 2016 - Results and highlights featuring Goldberg - WATCH

A triple threat match was announced by the General Manager for next's week RAW and a surprise return of a legend.

New Delhi: The highlight of October 17th, 2016 RAW was the return of former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg.

Everyone was pretty excited for his comeback, as Paul Heymen issued him a challenge for a match with his client Brock Lesner on last week's RAW. So, the question was will the rematch happen?

A triple threat match was announced by the General Manager for next's week RAW and a surprize return of a legend.

1- Opening Segment

Kevin Owens started the show with his so called 'best friend' Chris Jericho. Owens said the Mick Foley has a personal vendetta against him, by forcing him for a match against Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship inside Hell In a Cell. Y2J added the match should have been a triple threat match.

Jericho claimed that he can beat Rollins whenever he wanted. To this Seth challenged him for a match then and there. KO wanted to stay at the ringside, but Chris said he had it all covered.

2- Seth Rollins vs Chris Jericho

When Rollins went on the top rope to end the match, then came out Kevin Owens.

The distraction by Owens was enough for Jericho to lock in the Walls of Jericho on Seth. KO was pulling the rope furthur to help Chris but Referee saw that and told Owens to leave the ringside. Seth used the advantage and hit Y2J with a Pedigree.

RESULT: Seth Rollins defeated Chris Jericho (via pinfall)

3- Lita's Interview with Charlotte as she vows to hurt Sasha Banks inside Hell In a Cell

Charllote said that she is unbeaten in 12 straight pay-per-views and in two weeks time she will regain her title from Sasha. She added that she is genetically superior compared to every other performer in the WWE.

4- Golden Truth and Mark Henry vs The Shining Stars and Titus O'Neil

Mark Henry hit Titus O' Neil with the Worlds Strongest Slam and sent him in the Hall of Pain to pick the victory for his side.

RESULT: Golden Truth and Mark Henry defeated The Shining Stars and Titus O’Neil

5- Chris Jericho confronts Kevin Owens

Jericho almost called Owens stupid idiot and KO didn't like it.

Stephanie McMahon had to intervene the fight before it got ugly and asked them to be on the same page as Smack Down had issued challenge for RAW on Survivor Series pay-per-view.

6- Big E vs Sheamus

Last week on RAW, Cesaro had a match with Kofi. During that match, Sheamus was LIVE on Facebook and said, "Not watching Cesaro's match".

This match was between one half of the Tag-Team Champion Big E and the Celtic warrior. Now, it was time for the Swiss Superman to enjoy the proceedings. He went LIVE on Facebook and was busy with the Cesaro section. Sheamus told Cesaro to film him as he was going to Brouge Kick Big E, but the Tag-Team Champion took advantage and rolled the Celtic Warrior up for 1-2-3!

Sheamus was in agony as he lost the match which was in his control. In two weeks time, Cesaro will team up with the Celtic Warrior (Sheamus) to take on WWE Tag-Team Champions at Hell In A Cell.

RESULT: Big E defeated Sheamus (via a roll-up)

7- Neville vs Bo Dallas

Whenever Neville tried to hit Red Arrow on Bo Dallas, he rolled away from him. For the third time he went for his finishing maneuver, but this time he was countered by BO, who hit him to pick up the win.

After the victory, BO attacked Curtis Axel, who accompanied him to the ring side during the match. He slammed him against the barricade before kneeing him in the face.

RESULT: Bo Dallas defeated Neville (via pinfall)

8- Paul Heyman’s last warning to Goldberg

9- Dana Brooke vs Bayley

Dana looked in control for most part of the match. But just when Bayley got an upper hand in the match, Brooke slammed her in the ring post and told the referee to count. Yes, Dana Brooke defeated Bayley. It's a hard pill to swallow but that's the truth.

RESULT: Dana Brooke defeated Bayley (via pinfall)

10- Braun Strowman vs The Mile High Trio

There is nothing to tell you about the match, as the trio was defeated mercifully by Strowman, but what happened after the match was interesting.

Braun asked Foley for some more competitive match ups or he was going to Mick backstage. To answer Strowman's call, came out the Underdog from Underground, Sami Zyan.

It will be interesting to see the battle between these two next week.

RESULT: Braun Stroman defeated The Mile High Trio

11- Roman Reigns confronts Rusev and Lana

Rusev was out with one purpose, to introduce the WWE Universe to his family members. The segment was going nowhere till Roman Reigns interrupted the proceedings.

Lana slapped Roman and then he was superkicked from behind by Rusev. The Bulgarian Brute went on to hit United States Champion with steel steps and then locked in the Accolade on Roman.

Rusev just showed that he is not done with the title and he do anything to get it back at Hell in A Cell.

12- Karl Anderson vs Big Cass

Last week on RAW, The Club attacked Big Cass and Enzo Amore from behind and hit them with Magic Killer.

This was the revenge seeking match for Big Cass against one-half of the Club. It was quick match, as Cass showed his dominance throughout the match over Anderson. Soon he hit him with Eastern River Crossing to end the match.

RESULT: Big Cass defeated Karl Anderson (via pinfall)

13- Lita's interview with Sasha Banks as prepares to make history inside Hell in a Cell

This will the first time when any women will compete inside Hell In a Cell. So, Sasha Banks and Charlotte will make history as they compete in the next pay-per-view.

14- Mick Foley talks to Stephanie McMahon about the Survivor Series pay-per-view

Mick Foley made the huge announcement for next week RAW, prior to Hell In a Cell.

A triple threat match between...

15- TJ Perkins, Cedric Alexander & Rich Swann vs Brian Kendrick, Drew Gulak & Tony Nese

Kendrick locked in the Captian's Hook on Swann, TJ tried his best to interfere in the submission but Nese held onto the legs of Perkins and didn't allowed him to break the lock. Rich couldn't hold it for long as he tapped out.

RESULT: Brian Kendrick, Tony Nese, Drew Gulak defeated TJ Perkins, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann

16- Goldberg returns

What a Moment for the WWE Universe, the legend is back, Goldberg is back. The most awaited moment for fans, as the greatest Champion in WCW history returned to WWE Monday Night Raw.

The Denver arena didn't disappoint the Champion as he recieved an overwhelming recpetion throughout the segment. It's been 12 years since his last match in WWE, and what an ovation. Though he was the toughest guy in the sports entertainment, yet he had tear in his eyes.

Yes! Goldberg accepted the challenge of Beast Incarnate for one last time.

He said maybe he has one more a** kicking left in him, maybe one more bad a** spear in him and maybe he has one last devastating Jackhammer in him.

He also said, " Brock Lesner not only does that mean that You Are Next, but most importantly it means Brock Lesner, You Are Last."

That was the most awaited return of all time. Yes we will witness Goldberg vs Brock Lesner for one more time.

As the show was about to go off air, a huge announcement was made by the WWE, that Brock Lesner will be LIVE on next's week RAW​
