While PV Sindhu became India's first shuttler to bag a silver medal at the mega event, Sakshi Malik became India's first woman wrestler to clinch a medal at the biggest sporting extravaganza.

New Delhi: Keeping in mind India's women athletes' stupendous show at Rio Olympics 2016, Pizza Hut decided to come up with a unique initiative.

The popular food franchise decided to give a free pan pizza to all those girls who shared their names with India's two medalists at the Rio Olympics.

While Sindhu became India's first shuttler to bag a silver medal at the mega event, Sakshi became India's first woman wrestler to clinch a medal at the biggest sporting extravaganza.

The offer was however valid till August 20.

"The initiative is a small token of our appreciation for the Indian Olympians who have won medals at Rio," said Unnat Varma, managing director of Pizza Hut (Indian subcontinent) in a statement.
