Rio De Janeiro: The International Boxing Assocation (AIBA) said today that all 11 Russian boxers entered for the Rio Olympics should be allowed to compete.
The AIBA said a day before the opening ceremony that a review of the cases of the nine men and two women fighters had been implemented, following accusations of state-run doping in an investigation carried out for the World Anti-Doping Agency.
"That process is now complete and confirmation has been received from the IOC review panel that the following 11 Russian boxers are eligible to compete at Rio 2016:," said a statement, before listing the members of the Russian boxing team.
The AIBA gave its figures ahead of an expected announcement by the International Olympic Committee on the total number of Russians who will be allowed to compete in Rio.
