New Delhi: Abhinav Bindra became India's first individual gold medal winner at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Sushil Kumar missed out on joining him after he lost his final contest at 2012 London Olympics.

Now that PV Sindhu is in the final of the women's singles final, Bindra is hoping he finally has some company in the gold medal club.

Bindra, who narrowly missed out on a medal in Rio, took to social micro-blogging site Twitter to throw open the gates of this elite club.

Sindhu is in great form and has beaten two higher ranked opponents in the last two rounds.

In the final, she is up against Carolina Marin of Spain.

The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM IST.
