New Delhi: In a precursor to major upheaval in the Congress party, Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid had set the ball rolling in March by writing a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi after the Uttar Pradesh debacle, saying he was ready to sacrifice his ministry to improve the party’s prospects.
Recently, Minister of State in the PMO V Narayansami also offered to quit to work for the party.
Jairam Ramesh, whose portfolio is under seige as Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Baneerjee demanded that she wants to go out on a high note as she feels that a beleaguered congress party might “surrender” to her. Meanwhile, Congress sources said that Ghulam Nabi Azad might look after Jammu and Kashmir while Vylar Ravi Azad will look after Andhra Pradesh. Sources also revealed that Suresh Pachuri will also be brought back as party general secretary.
