Paes was looking slightly relieved after Bombay High Court allowed daughter Aiyana to accompany him to the Davis Cup from September 18 to 20.
Speaking to Times Now, Paes said, "I am really looking forward to Ayana being with me here in Delhi for this Davis Cup. It's been a while since I played for her and showed her how papa can through his tennis can teach the young child on excellence, on how to be the best they can be, on how to represent the country and the people. I am hoping she can come thus weekend and I hope good sense prevails."
Paes has been involved in a court battle with his estranged partner Rhea Pillai to gain custody of their daughter.
Paes arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday morning to take part in the Davis Cup World Group Playoff against the Czech Republic this weekend.
Talking about the upcoming Davis Cup clash against Czech Republic, the 42-year-old said that they had a strong squad.
"Very much. It's really going to be a tough outing for us. We have got a very formidable Czech team. Even though they have come here without their number one player – Thomas Berdych – the depth in the Czech team is amazing," he added.
