New Delhi: Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis were knocked out of the Qatar Open on Friday, a defeat which also ended their incredible 41-match winning streak.
The top seeds were defeated 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 by Russian pair Elena Vesnina and Daria Kasatkina in the quarter-finals.
The Indo-Swiss pair's last loss came way back in Cincinatti last August.
Soon after the loss, Sania posted a photograph on Twitter with Hingis saying they 'will be back stronger than before'.

Their loss means Jana Novotna and Helena Sukova's world record of winning 44 matches in a row, which was created in 1990, remains intact.
