World number one Novak Djokovic continued his imperious form in China to beat Andy Murray in straight sets in the second semi-final of the 2015 Shanghai Masters on Saturday.

New Delhi: World number one Novak Djokovic continued his imperious form in China to beat Andy Murray in straight sets in the second semi-final of the 2015 Shanghai Masters on Saturday.

The 28-year-old Serbian took little more than an hour to complete the rout of number three seed Briton, 6-1, 6-3 at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena. He will play Frenchman Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, who beat former World number one Rafael Nadal in the first semis, in Sunday's final.

Djokovic, who has won three of the four Grand Slam titles this year, in unbeaten in China, and have won the China Open last week, after beating Nadal. This is his seventh Masters 1000 final of the year, having won at Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo and Rome. He was the finalist at Montreal (to Murray) and Cincinnati (to Roger Federer).

In a one-sided affair in Shanghai, the Serbian broke thrice in the first set, in the third, fifth and seventh games. Then, in the second set, he broke Murray twice, in the second and fourth games.

Djokovic failed to convert the first Match Point in the ninth game, but serve out to win his third Shanghai Masters title. He won it in 2012 and 2013.

With the win, Djokovic has extended his head-to-head record over Murray to 20-9 in 29 meetings, an 7-6 in the finals.

Earlier, Tsonga survived some stern test to beat a resurgent Nadal in three sets, 6-4, 0-6, 7-5 to book his first ever Shanghai final.
