Fourth seed Yuki outplayed Taipei player Jimmy Wang 6-4 6-2 in the singles quarterfinals in just 67 minutes and later combined with his Yi to beat local pair of Ti Chen and Liang-Chi Huang 6-0 5-7 10-7.


Playing against world number 40 Vesley in the must-win fourth rubber in the World Group Play off tie, Yuki had suffered a tame defeat in straight sets.


Also advancing to the doubles semifinal was fourth seed Indian pair of Somdev Devvarman and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan, who got a walkover from Nicolas Barrientos and Marco Trungelliti, who was laid low by a hip injury.


Up next for them are locals Cheng-Peng Hsieh and Tsung-Hua Yang, who shocked top seeded Thai brothers Sanchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana 6-7 6-7(5) 10-7.


Yuki and Chu-Huan Yi will take on second seeds Mao-Xin Gong from China and Hsien-Yin Peng from Taipei.
