A day after the AIADMK merger, crisis stared at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy's (EPS) government as 19 MLAs withdrew their support.
With the announcement of O Panneerselvam (OPS) as the new Deputy Chief Minister, the legislators resigned leading to a majority shortfall to the government. Following this, 19 MLAs aligned with TTV Dhinakaran met Governor C Vidyasagar Rao.
Later, DMK president MK Stalin demanded a majority floor test.
In a dramatic turn of events on Tuesday evening, seven MLAs supporting Dhinakaran were moved out of Chennai. The lawmakers were shifted to a resort in Puducherry.
