Saravanan joined caretaker Chief Minister O Panneerselvam`s camp on Monday evening where he revealed that he was one of the MLAs who were caged in private resort at Koovathur. The Madurai legislator claimed that he was `traumatised` and had to disguise himself to escape from the resort. In a major blow to Sasikala earlier today, the Supreme Court rejected her plea for more time to surrender before a Bengaluru court. She may, however, seek two weeks time on health grounds.

The Supreme Court had convicted Sasikala in connection with a 19-year old disproportionate assets case. A bench of Justices PC Ghose and AK Roy directed them to surrender forthwith to the trial court in Bengaluru and serve the remaining part of the four-year-jail term.Consequently, Sasikala will not be able to contest for 10 years.
