Chennai: PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Tuesday sought a probe by the CBI and by a Madras High Court judge into the violence in Chennai and Madurai on Monday.
Ramadoss said in a statement that there was sufficient proof to prove that police and anti-social elements indulged in the violence and not protesters favouring Jallikattu, the bull taming sport.
Regretting that a protest to redeem Tamil Nadu`s tradition and culture ended in violence, he said many organisations were not able to digest the neutral protest and worked to deflect its focus.
He said a couple of persons arrested for violence belonged to a political party.
