Chennai: In a horrific incident, a college student was stabbed outside her college in Chennai on Friday. The attacker was caught and handed over to the police.
As per a report in The Hindu, the BCom student was taken to a private hospital. However, she died there later.
The incident took place in Chennai's KK Nagar when a youth said to be named Azhagesan, stabbed the girl with a serrated knife.
The public caught the accused and handed him over to the police.
As per reports, the police is investigating the matter and ascertaining the motive of the crime.
On the other hand, The News Minute said that the girl, student of Meenakshi College, had filed a complaint against Azhagesan and after this, he was arrested by the police. Later, he was given bail.
The incident comes nearly two years after the case of Swathi, a young engineer working in software giant Infosys, who was murdered at Nungambakkam railway station on June 24, 2016.
She was found dead with cut injuries on her face and neck at around 6.30 am the platform. A 22-year-old accused, identified as P Ramkumar, who used to stalk Infosys techie Swathi, was arrested for the murder.
