Nine Pudukottai district fishermen held for using banned fishing nets

Pudukottai: Nine fishermen from this district were arrested for allegedly using "banned fishing nets" while fishing off Pudukudi coast here on Thursday, marine police said.

The fishermen were caught by local fishers and handed over to the police, they said.

The fishermen would be remanded to judicial custody after being interrogated, police said.
