New Delhi: The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has updated BHIM app, which is available on Google Play store. Bharat Interface for Money or BHIM app is based on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and was launched by Prime Minister Modi on December 30.
The app saw more than 10 million downloads in just 10 days of the launch.
The app is still available only for the Android phone users, and the NPCI) is yet to launch an iOS vesion.
Considering the large number of BHIM downloads on Android phones, NPCI has updated the Android version of the app. The Android version v1.2, is available on Google Play store.
These BHIM v1.2 app comes with the following updates:
The app now has support for seven more regional languages. While it was launched in English and Hindi, the app is now accessible in Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Odia, Tamil, and Telugu.
The updated BHIM also adds the Pay to Aadhaar Number payment option, with which users can transfer money to the Aadhaar number linked with the beneficiaries' bank account.
Paying more focus on the security feature in app, one can block unknown persons on the app by applying Spam Report feature.
Also, NPCI has added an improved Customer Redressal Mechanism as well.
Some more new features of the BHIM for Android are: the ability to retry mobile registration via OTP/ USSD, the ability to restore forgotten passcode, improved privacy settings alongside the option to disable mobile-number@upi, the ability to report issues to banks and view the status of resolution, the ability to choose SIM on dual-SIM phones and finally, the ability to reverse a payment received.
