New Delhi: Just when you are desperate to book a cab through app-based service provider, or you would like to download or upload an important audio or video clip, the data connectivity on your phone refuses to act!
Whether on those desperate calls or so many other times, you may have noticed that the data/internet connection on your phone is merely enabling you to view or send emails or instant messages, and no more.
Are you being cheated by your data service provider? For example: when we checked the 3G data service being offered by Vodafone on a mobile connection, we got shocking results! Packet loss of up to 80 to 90 percent was recorded, with download speed of 0.03 mbps and upload speed of 0 mbps, while showing network delay of 3522 ms.
So, it is time you also check and verify what your mobile data provider is claiming to be offering you?
Here is how you can do it: Telecom regulatory authority has launched an app MySpeed( TRAI) for users to check the speed of the internet on their smartphones.
The app is available for download on Mobile Seva app store and can check the 3G or 4G connectivity offered by the telecom service providers.
The app also offers an option to send the speed report collected from your phone to be directly sent to TRAI and keep them apprised of the internet speeds throughout India.
