New Delhi: Indian television saw the rise of a comedian cum actor, who climbed the popularity charts like none. Kapil Sharma became a name synonymous with high TRPs and great comedy shows.

But like they say, there comes a time in every celebrity's life when things don't actually work out the way it is believed to function. So, after his infamous brawl with fellow comedian Sunil Grover and latter's quick exit from 'The Kapil Sharma Show', the ace comedian faced a tough time.

Soon his health deteriorated as Kapil kept juggling between shooting 'TKSS' and his film 'Firangi'. Result? The show suffered and so did his health. Now, the news has been confirmed by the man in question that they are taking a brief break and will so the fans will have to wait for 'The Kapil Sharma Show' to make a comeback on television.

In an interview with Times Of India, Kapil was quizzed over the rumour of him keeping the superstars in waiting and then calling off the shoots at the last moment. To this Kapil replied by saying, “How can I make them wait? All these rumours are baseless and there is no truth to it. My show is what it is today because of these stars. They have added charm to TKSS. I have immense love and respect in my heart for them. I am not bigger than my show.”

“There is too much negativity around. I usually refrain from talking to media and that is why you will see too many false stories about me because I don’t react to them. I have been in the industry for 10 years now and have won 6 seasons of Comedy Circus. Why will I suddenly start showing my stardom or misusing it. Whatever I am today is because of my hardwork. Am I stupid to cancel 5 shoots and make superstars wait. What pleasure will I get in doing this? Why will I give excuses and my reputation in the industry. Please ask people who have worked with me, have they heard such stories before? Some people can’t be happy for others and they like spreading rumours. They feel good in pulling someone down. Those who are saying I am not able to handle my stardom, can’t deal with my success.”

Confirming that his show is taking a break, Kapil said, “Yes, it is true that I am taking a break from the show for sometime as I have not been keeping well. It happens with everyone, you and me, we all go through health issues. I ignored my health in the past, worked back to back, over exerted myself and that’s the reason my health has gone for a toss. I can’t ignore it anymore, since my film is set for release and have a tough schedule ahead. Doctors have advised me to rest and I am thankful that the channel has been very cooperative with me. I am suffering from weakness and anxiety and getting treated for it. I will be back soon in full form. I am right now in hospital.”
