Mumbai: Kapil Sharma, who hasn’t had a great year so far owing to ill-health and ugly spat with former colleague/friend Sunil Grover, ended up cancelling Akshay Kumar’s The Great Indian Laughter Challenge 5 shoot, reports suggest.

Interestingly, it’s the same show with which Kapil had begun his TV career many years ago.

According to a report in DNA, Akshay Kumar, Shreyas Talpade and Sajid Khan kept waiting for Kapil, but the latter didn’t turn up, despite repeated calls.

“Akshay even graciously said that if Kapil is late, they will shoot some other bits and when the comedian comes he can join them. The roll time was 11 am, but even by 3 pm, Kapil did not arrive. Finally, he just cancelled it,” DNA quoted a source as saying.

But according to a source close to Kapil, the star comedian, who is busy promoting his second film Firangi, these days, “was a bit under the weather”.

However, this is not the first time Kapil cancelled shoot. He has reportedly cancelled Super Dancer 2 shoot too, but had subsequently shot for it.

Kapil has been in news for all wrong reasons this year primarily because of his spat with Grover on board a flight in March. The comedian, who made his acting debut with Abbas- Mustan’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon in 2015, feels regretful about the incident that has tarnished his image to an extent.

He said, “Do I regret what happened with Sunil? Yes. I think what happened shouldn't have happened. Par kabhi-kabhi main ye sochta hu jo hona hai usko koi rok bhi nahi sakta. Hona he tha shayad (But sometimes I think probably nobody could have stopped what happened. Things which have to happen eventually happen).

Post the ugly fight with Sunil, Kapil had slipped into depression. “These incidents teach you a lot. That even if you're happy, you should stay within a limit. If you're tensed, stay calm and not drink to get over it. It ruins more things, Kapil said.
